Australia-Bangladesh Abandoned due to weather
The organisers of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 sincerely thank fans
for their patience with the match between Australia and Bangladesh at
the ‘Gabba in Brisbane today.
As a result of persistent rain, the match was finally abandoned at 4.38pm without a ball being bowled. Ticket holders will receive a refund.
With weather forecasts earlier in the day predicting rain clearing in the afternoon, ICC match officials were hopeful that a reduced overs match could be completed. However the ongoing rain meant that ultimately there was no possibility of completing the required minimum of 20 overs per side.
As there are no reserve days in the pool phase of the tournament the match could not be rescheduled.
For patrons who purchased their ticket via the internet or phone with a debit or credit card, refunds will be processed automatically to the debit/credit card on which the ticket was bought.
